How To Make Ginger Tea

Ginger tea is a great way to ward off colds and flu. It is also a great way to treat those cold and flu symptoms. I swear by this stuff. It always gives an extra boost to my immune system. I know it works because there have been MANY times that my family has gotten sick and I do not get sick even though I am doctoring them. It truly is my secret to staying healthy.

Ginger has a spicy taste to it. Sometimes it is something that you have to get used to. A lot of people love ginger right away. I was one of those people who had to acquire a taste for it. Now I absolutely enjoy it and look forward to every cup. Believe me, it is worth it to give this tea a chance.

I use ginger tea to warm me also. I have a tendency to get cold easily and ginger tea always warms me from the inside. It is great for your circulation. I have also read that it is great for arthritis because it reduces inflammation. All of these ingredients complement each other in a well balanced way.

In this post I will share with you several health benefits for each of the ingredients listed below. In my video I share even more benefits and show you how I make my tea. Here is the link to the video:  http://youtu.be/mLdCkKfY8gM

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All the ingredients that you need are in the picture above. You will need:
Ginger root
Clove
Cinnamon
Lemon
and
Honey
You can adjust the amount of these ingredients according to your taste and the size of your pot.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 The first thing I do is scrub my ginger root with my vegetable scrub brush under warm water. I also scrub my lemon. It is important to make sure they are clean because they have probably been handled by other people in the store.

Now I cut my ginger into small slices and then put them in the pot.

  (I will list links below for more health benefits and you can also watch the video for more helpful tips)
The next step is to cut your lemon into slices and to put them in the pot also.

I used 3 cinnamon sticks for my pot of tea. Cinnamon is a great addition to the tea. It tastes great and the health benefits are amazing.

The next ingredient is clove. Wow! Clove is a beautiful herb. It will surely help a sore throat and the you can't beat the medicinal value in these little darlings. I used 7 cloves in my pot of tea.

I always sweeten my tea with honey. It is my favorite sweetener and it holds a plethora of health benefits. It is natures way of offering a soothing cure to a sore throat.

Now I let my tea simmer. I will turn it on warm when I know that it is ready to drink. This way I have a warm cup of tea at my finger tips at any time during the day. During the winter months I try to drink several cups a day. You can also put your ginger tea in a container and put it in the refrigerator. A lot of people like to drink it cold too.

Please read as much as you can about the herbs you use in your diet. If you are on medication or have health conditions, you will need to do your research. It is suggested that you do not use ginger before going into surgery. I cannot express the importance of research enough. Listen to your body. :)
ENJOY YOUR TEA!!

Here are a few links to get you started with your research.

EasyMeWorld Spicy Pumpkin Bread Recipe

My family loves my pupkin bread and I LOVE to bake it when the weather begins to cool down and the leaves start to change. It adds a warm aroma to the whole house. I add extra spices to all my breads and baked fall goodies. Do not be shy when it comes to making your bread spicy. People are afraid of adding too much spice but it is amazing how many complements I get on this bread because I DO add extra spice. I never could figure out why most recipes call for such small amounts of spices. hehe :)
This is excellent! I promise!!

EasyMeWorld Spicy Pumpkin Bread
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. pumpkin puree
1/2 c. vegetable oil
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. all spice
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Sift together the flour, salt, sugar, and baking soda. In a separate bowl, combine the pumpkin, oil, eggs, water and spices. pour into the bowl w/dry ingredients and mix just until all are combined - do not stir too much. Stir in nuts. Pour into buttered or spray 9x5x3 loaf pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until the middle is done. Remove from pan and cool on rack.

DIY Fall Window Decorations

Here is a great way to decorate a window to make it look like leaves are falling in front of it. It is inexpensive to make and you can get the leaves and raffia at the dollar store. I came up with this idea last year when I was trying to think of things to make with my raffia to decorate my house for fall. It turned out so awesome and everyone who see's it loves it. I gave all of the decorations I made last year to my daughter so this year I wanted to make one for myself and make a video while I did it so you can make one too. I used beads to add an extra special touch to it but you do not have to add beads if you do not want to. It looks great without the beads too. I also made a bunch of these to decorate for a barn wedding last year. We hung them against the walls with white lights behind them and it looked AMAZING. We also hung them along the edge of the cake table to give it a country look. There are so many things that you can decorate with this idea. I hope you enjoy making this craft too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You will need:
Twine
Raffia
Glue gun
Decorative leaves
OPTIONAL:
Beads
Markers or paint
A stick for the top (You can use twine for this)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The first thing that we do is paint or color our beads. We used Sharpie markers to put all kinds of Autumn designs on our beads. It added that special loving touch. :)
Here are some examples...

Now we cut pieces of twin and tie them evenly along your string or twine like this...

Note: If you use twine, be sure to tie a loop at the ends of the top piece to make it easy to hang up when you are finished.

We push the twine through the beads and be sure to tie a knot under each bead so that they stay in place. We tie the beads on the twine so that they hang randomly and not straight across.

Now we tie our raffia onto our stick or top piece of twin so that the pieces hang evenly between the twine and beads.

The next step is to split each piece of raffia to make the pieces thinner. This makes your decoration look more full and softer looking. We use our fingernails to grab each side of a piece of raffia. Then we pull them apart. It is really simple and I find it relaxing to do while watching my favorite TV show or sitting on the porch. You pull each piece apart and make them as thin as you can. The results are awesome.

The last thing we do is randomly glue our decorative leaves onto the top of our raffia. Make sure you use different colors and sizes. We also placed them in different directions so that it it gives the appearance of falling leaves.

We hope you enjoy making this craft as much as we did. Thanks for visiting.

Remember to watch our video for more details.

A Tip For Making Apple Pies Easier

A Tip For Making Thanksgiving Apple Pies Easier
Making Thanksgiving dinner can be a very busy time. I usually take a whole day to cook all of my pies and goodies for our Thanksgiving deserts. I am always trying to think of ways to make cooking for Thanksgiving dinner easier. This is a simple tip that can help make your baking day go faster and easier.

It is apple season so I thought it would be the perfect time to share this tip. My hubby brought home some awesomely yummy apples so lets get started. :)

The first thing that I do is peel and core my apples. I follow my favorite apple pie recipe and mix all the ingredients for 1 apple pie into a bowl.

For the next step I use a 1 gallon Ziploc freezer bag.

I open the freezer bag and lay it inside of the pan that I usually use for baking my apple pies. Like this.

Now I fill the bag with my apple pie filling.

I press the air out and then zip up the bag.

Now I take my apple filling AND pan and put them in the freezer. Make sure they are set in the freezer so they do not tip while they freeze.

After your apples are frozen you can take the pans out and you can tuck your frozen apple pie filling anywhere in your freezer to save room.

On the day that you want to bake your apple pies, all you have to do is take the filling out and place it inside of the crust. Simple. You can also make your crust ahead of time and freeze that also.
It is amazing how much time this saves me.
I hope this tip helps make your life easier.
Thank you so much for visiting our blog.
Have a beautiful day!!

The Precious Gift of Creativity

I started EasyMeWorld to encourage others to use their imaginations. Creativity is such a beautiful gift. It blossoms and seems to grow bigger every time we use it. Being creative is like reaching into our hearts and pulling out a precious gem that has been tucked away just waiting to be revealed. By using this precious gift we can release our inner knowing that we can do whatever our heart desires. There is no judgment while using our imaginations. It is a time to 'let go' of all rules and be free. It is a time to expand our inner joy. When we expand our inner joy, we touch everyone around us with a smile from our hearts. We do not even have to try. It is pretty simple actually. All we have to do is 'let go'. Let it flow. It does not matter how your creation turns out. If you are not happy with it, start again. Sometimes those things that we 'thought' were mistakes can turn out to be a masterpiece. Some people say that they are not very creative. This is only a lie that they tell themselves because they are afraid that others will judge them. This is only a belief, not a fact. We are ALL creators. We create from different perspectives. That is what makes us all so beautiful.
